Meet the Visionary and Heart of White Dog Farm
Anna Hyde is the driving force and nurturing spirit behind White Dog Farm. From the tender age of chasing childhood dreams alongside her very first horse, her passion for equines has been the compass guiding her journey.
Her path took a professional turn shortly after high school when she led a riding program. This experience fueled her realization that her life’s purpose was intertwined with these majestic creatures. Her childhood excitement blossomed into a lifelong commitment.
Anna’s educational path led her to Cherry Meadow Farm, where she earned an Associate Instructor’s Degree through Hofstra University in 1979. Over the next two decades, her expertise expanded beyond the riding trails. Her adventures in the equine world included grooming show horses, participating in fox hunting and steeplechasing, and managing the care of polo ponies.
Her ongoing education in veterinary after-care deepened her understanding and skill in handling various horse types, each with unique needs and potential.
Today, White Dog Farm is a testament to Anna’s dreams, which have become a reality. It’s a place where human and equine talent fusion creates enriching experiences. Here, horses previously trained for different careers find new purpose, contributing to the diverse WDF experience.

“We never started out to become stewards of experienced horses. However, finding so many horses that needed a good home over the last few years, we have seen the benefits that these intelligent and loving animals have brought to our students. One of the major benefits of using experienced horses is safety, an issue that all parents are concerned about. The philosophy behind the development of our programs is to provide safe as well as meaningful experiences for our students, tools they can use throughout life, not just on the back of a horse.” (July 2009)
